Your Bhutan journey begins at Phuentsholing, the welcoming gateway to the Kingdom of Bhutan. After meeting our representative, proceed with immigration formalities at the border gate. Begin the scenic drive towards Thimphu (approx. 5 hours). Along the way, visit Jetsuen Milarapa Lhakhang temple, stop at Gedu to see the collection of eight stupas (chortens), capture photos at Wangkha Waterfall, and appreciate Chuzom (the river confluence of Paro Chhu & Thimphu Chhu). On arrival in Thimphu, check in to your hotel and relax.
After breakfast, enjoy full-day sightseeing in Thimphu. Visit the gigantic Buddha Dordenma Statue with panoramic valley views, the serene Hindu Temple, and the National Memorial Chorten built in memory of the Third King. Gain insight into local lifestyle at Bhutan Living Museum and Folk Heritage Museum. Meet Bhutan's national animal at Takin Preservation Centre and admire views from BBS Tower. Visit Centenary Farmers' Market, craft shops, Tashichho Dzong viewpoint, and enjoy an evening walk around Thimphu Clock Tower Square.
Depart Thimphu for Paro Valley. On the way, visit Tachog Lhakhang with its historic 14th-century iron chain bridge. Stop at Paro Airport Viewpoint for panoramic photos. At Nyame Zampa, enjoy a memorable photo session wearing traditional Bhutanese attire (Gho & Kira) against Rinpung Dzong background. Visit Ta Dzong (National Museum), 17th-century Rinpung Dzong fortress, and ancient Kyichu Lhakhang. Stroll through charming Paro town evening market.
Prepare for the crown jewel of Bhutan – the hike to world-renowned Taktsang Monastery (Tiger's Nest), perched dramatically on a cliff 900m above Paro Valley. The 5–6 hour round hike ascends through pine forests fluttering with colorful prayer flags. Learn about Guru Padmasambhava who meditated here in the 8th century. Explore sacred temples and prayer halls before descending back. Evening rest at hotel in Paro.
After breakfast, check out and begin the return drive (approx. 5 hours) towards Phuentsholing border gateway or Paro Airport as per your onward travel arrangement. Bid farewell to the Land of the Thunder Dragon with lifelong memories. Tashi Delek!
